jtierney@broydrick.comJodie Tierney comes to Broydrick & Associates as a Government Affairs Adviser after three years as Vice President of Public Affairs for the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS® (GMAR). In two years she made the GMAR’s political clout second only to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area Chamber’s. This put the GMAR in a position to effect both public policy change and the political landscape in the greater Milwaukee region.
On behalf of the GMAR, Tierney was intricately involved in several elections including Barbara Horton to the Milwaukee School Board, and Pat Roggensack to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She was also the leader of the business community movement to elect Scott Walker, Milwaukee County Executive.
Prior to that she served as Executive Assistant to then Assembly Speaker Scott Jensen, with whom she worked for eight years. During this time she was the committee clerk for two of the most powerful legislative committees, the Joint Committee on Finance and Assembly Rules Committee. Jodie also managed the Assembly’s Legislative Floor Session Calendar, a task that encompasses ushering legislation from introduction to the Governor’s desk for signature.
She has an extensive background in political fundraising. In 2000, she raised over $300,000 for a legislative candidate in under four months. She also doubled the political giving at the GMAR, increasing their annual contribution level from $50,000 to over $108,000 in just two years.
Jodie works for a variety of clients both in the State Capitol and Milwaukee County. Her depth of experience and results-driven approach has benefited clients ranging from businesses, non-profits, trade associations and family-owned businesses.
Tierney is a graduate of Marquette University and has 13 years of experience in grassroots politics, public policy and fundraising. She has experience at both the local, state and federal levels. She is also a member of Wisconsin Women in Government, Young Professionals of Milwaukee and a volunteer for United Way.
