With over 15 years of legislative and political experience both in Washington, D.C. and Michigan, Fred Starzyk is a seasoned operative who has achieved numerous political and legislative successes over the course of his career. He was a veteran campaign manager and senior Capitol Hill staffer for U.S. Congressman Sander Levin and managed numerous state and local campaigns in Michigan. He also lobbied on behalf of a large, statewide organization in Lansing, MI on economic development, consumer protection and environmental issues.
Specializing in transportation policy, federal emergency management, agricultural and environmental issues for the firm’s Washington, D.C. practice, Fred has achieved numerous victories for his clients. A few recent accomplishments include inserting a provision into the 2007 Farm Bill benefiting the Wisconsin and Massachusetts Cranberry Growers and securing almost $2 million in an appropriations bill for cranberry research, working with the Department of Justice to save five assistant district attorney positions in Milwaukee County, securing a federal appropriation for a county-wide child dental program in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and developing and securing the inclusion of an amendment in a supplemental appropriations bill benefiting a major health care client.
